In the Summer of 2022, The 约翰·珀金斯中心 made the decision to combine two historic institutional ministries (Latreia 和 SPRINT) to form a new ministry coined now as “JPC学习 和 Serve.”
Similar to previous years, JPC学习 和 Serve will encourage students to participate in quarterly engagements where they will 学习 about a specific local or global topic 和 服务 with an organization that may address that topic. As a part of JPC学习 和 Serve, we hope to allow students to gain opportunities to engage with history, 地点和背景, then reflect on how they can towards living more justly.
2023 JPC学习 & Serve Event: Indigenous Peoples' Day Learning at Burke Museum:
JPC学习 & Serve invites students to join us for a 学习ing experience around Indigenous Peoples’ Day on October 5th from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Burke Museum. We will provide limited rides to/from campus at 4:00pm 和 aim to return by 7:00pm. Students who do not require rides can meet us at the Burke Museum at 4:40 pm. Students are invited to explore the Burke Museum 和 reflect on their sense of place while 学习ing about Indigenous culture. Limited spots 和 food (especially if you need a ride) are available on a first come first 服务 basis. Please register here!

Participants undergo extensive pre-trip preparation with training meetings, team-building activities covering topics of theology, community development, 与和解.
SPRINT is facilitated by student leaders 和 operates under the guidance of 约翰·珀金斯中心 staff, who 服务 as advisors for student leaders.

Team members have begun their fundraising. You can support our SPRINTers for their life-changing experience by donating toward their trip costs. Donations are tax-deductible according to applicable tax laws.
For our SPU campus community, students participate in several fundraisers, giving faculty 和 staff the opportunity to support SPRINTers through their purchase of various items.
